Introduction and Brief History
Since establishment of the college, commerce subjects are part of syllabus. Initially advance accounting and auditing was the optional subject in Bachelor of commerce at under graduate and post graduate level, but now these subjects are offered as special subjects since year 2002-03.
Earlier at under graduate level student had to clear one paper per year for optional subject from first year onwards. Now they have to study 2 optional subjects in first year. In the second year students opt one of four optional subjects. One paper in the second year and two papers in the third year for optional subject were included in new syllabus.

Extra Curricular Activities :
Since year 2000 onwards we are arranging Cooperative Training Program for one week in collaboration with Rajkot District Cooperative Union.
In year 2005-06, a Cooperative training program was organized at this institute in
collaboration with Rakot District Cooperative Union.
In the year 2006-07, from 25/09/2006 to 30/09/2006 a six day training program ended with tour to Junagadh District Coop Bank.
Inauguration and closing ceremony
Shri V. M. Gohil actively participates in sports activities of the college. As he has keen interest in sports, number of times Saurashtra University has also appointed him as a team manager.
In the year 2002-03, Inter College Table Tennis Tournament jointly organized by this college and Saurashtra University on 08/09/2002. Total 15 women's teams and 40 men's teams participated in the tournament. The whole tournament was appreciably managed by Mr. V. M. Gohil. Mr. Mohansinh Jadeja helped us to qualify for organizing this tournament, as a member of university's sports board. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, arts student won mens championship.
In the year 2002-03, for West Zone Inter University Table Tennis Tournament at Jodhpur, Mr. V. M. Gohil was appointed as a team manager of table tennis team (men-women) team by Saurashtra University. They reached to pre-quarter round.
In the year 2003-04, for West Zone Inter University Table Tennis Tournament at Gwalior, Mr. V. M. Gohil was appointed as a team manager of table tennis team (men-women) team by Saurashtra University.
In the year 2004-05, our Cricket team went to play Inter College Cricket Tournament organuized at S.P.Jain College-Dhrangadhra by Suarashtra University. Mr. V. M. Gohil accompanied the team as team manager and Mr. Mohansinh Jadeja was our coach. Our team won the championship. The trophy and cash price of Rs. 3000/- was presented by Mr. I. K. Jadeja (Minister-Guj. Govt.).
In the year 2004-05, for West Zone Inter University Table Tennis Tournament at Pune, again Mr. V. M. Gohil was appointed as a team manager of table tennis team (men-women) team by Saurashtra University. Our university's women team stood 4th in the tournament and went to play at National level in All India Table Tennis Tournament held at Kodai Kenal (TN).
In the year 2004-05, V. S. Commerce College organized a tournament in memory of former chief minister of Gujarat Late shri Chimanbhai Patel. Mr. V. M. Gohil was appointed as a team manager of cricket team by Saurashtra University. They won the tournament by defeating Bhavnagar University in the final. He was invited to express his experience during the tournament at price distribution ceremony.
In the year 2005-06, V. S. Commerce College organized a tournament in memory of former chief minister of Gujarat Late shri Chimanbhai Patel. Mr. V. M. Gohil was appointed as a team manager of cricket team by Saurashtra University. They became runner up.
Inter Cricket College Tournament hosted by S. P. Jain College-Dhrangadhra and organized by Saurashtra University in the year 2006-07. Total 40 colleges competed for the title and our college won the championship. Mr. V. M. Gohil as ever was the team manager. Mr. I. K. Jadeja (Minister of Urban Development-Gujarat State) presented a trophy and cash price of Rs. 1500/- to our captain.
Recently in December 2006, Mr. V. M. Gohil accompanied Saurashtra University's Cricket team as a team manager during their tour to Calcutta for All India Cricket Tournamenr (Rohington Baraiya Trophy) from 01/12/2006 to 12/12/2006. Saurashtra University's team reached to the semifinals of the trophy and won 4th place in all India.
